Leica Microsystems has become aware of process weaknesses of the sub-supplier producing the affected Power Supply Unit. These process weaknesses have caused that the Power Supply can become overheated due to internal component overstressing. Consequently, due to the overstressing of the internal components, one specific component can fail which will cause the device to unexpectedly shutdown. This shutdown is caused by the interruption of the energy supply caused by the component defect inside the Power Supply Unit.
